Pathology Administration Officer
Ongoing, Full Time Role
80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO's
Grade 2: HS2-HS21 ($66,768.00 - $73,811.92 p.a.)

About the role
This full time (Mon-Fri, 0800-1630) role will see the successful applicant join a friendly and enthusiastic team within the Pathology department at Peter Mac.
Our ideal applicant will have experience in administration within a medical or pathology setting, be a confident user of a variety of IT systems, have well developed interpersonal skills and be able to work efficiently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
The Pathology Administration department at Peter Mac provides a wide range of support to Medical and Scientific staff through the provision of services such as:
Entry of patient details and requests into the laboratory information system
Word processing
Retrieval of diagnostic material
Audio typing
Record keeping and filing
Mail management
Telophony
Calendar management
Meeting support, incl minute taking
Victorian Department of Health has a program of reforms across the public pathology system in Victoria.
As part of these reforms, the pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women’s Hospital, and the Royal Children’s Hospital are being considered for transition to a new style of service within Local Area Networks. The new model for delivering public pathology services will present an exciting opportunity to improve the scope, scale and reach of pathology services and testing capability to all Victorians. As this role is with Parkville, the successful candidate for this role will be initially employed by Parkville. However, this position and the successful candidate’s employment (including terms and conditions of employment) may be subject to a transition as part of this reform agenda.
