Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll principles and practices
Proficiency in payroll software and systems, such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Benefits
Salary: $50,000 – 70,000 Depending on Experience
Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, including data entry, verification, and distribution of paychecks or electronic transfers
Calculate and process employee wages, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation accurately and timely
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including filing payroll tax returns and remitting payments
Reconcile payroll transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly
Maintain accurate records of employee information, earnings, deductions, and benefits
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including tax withholdings, deductions, and pay discrepancies
Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure alignment between payroll and personnel records
Generate payroll reports and analyses as needed for management and regulatory purposes
Stay informed about changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices, and implement necessary updates to processes and procedures
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution
