Position: Payroll Lead
Reporting to: HR People Operations Manager
Location: Primacorp Head office, +60 Quayside Dr, New Westminster, BC V3M 6G2
Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000
Work type: In Office, Full-time, Monday-Friday
Job Purpose
The Payroll Lead is responsible for supporting the business through providing accurate and timely payroll processing and reporting for all Primacorp entities. The payroll lead mentors the payroll team, as well as provide supervisory-level direction. This role also requires being the go-to person for payroll support and managing all aspects of the payroll system, leading and training the payroll team, and ensuring all payroll accounting procedures are accurate.
Key Responsibilities
This role will take responsibility for:
Process payroll payments accurately while meeting strict deadlines
Calculate, verify, and process documentation related to changes such as wage and salary increases, employment status, tax withholding, and company deductions
Ensure payroll amounts are in accordance with the provisions of company policies and procedures, approved pay plans, and contractual agreements
Administer and interpret provincial and federal payroll regulations
Assist with payroll cost and G/L entries
Assist with yearend balancing
Running all year-end tasks
Run and analyze reports for payroll, employee pay, bonuses, vacation, sick, etc
Full-cycle payroll processing
Experience in running employer health tax/WBC for all provinces
Provides training to the team on policies, regulations, and processes.
Ability to liaise with stakeholders and manage expectations
Key competencies – Mandatory
Minimum 3 years experience in payroll processing
Experience using Success Factors payroll software a strong asset
Experience with end-to-end payroll processing
Strong working knowledge of payroll regulations
Experience with SAP payroll processing
Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail
Completion of payroll courses, working towards Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation
Key Competencies – Nice to have
Experience in training and mentoring junior team members
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods
The Ability to articulate complicated information to non-Payroll experts
