Injection Molding Set Up Technician -- Second Shift
We are looking for an organized and task-oriented Injection Molding Set Up Technician or Set Up/Start Up Technician to join our technical team on second shift.
About the Job
This role involves working systematically, problem-solving, and ensuring exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Set Up Technician for Plastic Injection Molding and be able to maintain 5S organization on the production floor.
Responsibilities
Prepare Work Centers:
Set up molds and end-of-arm tooling for production runs following mold sheet, work order, and visual instructions.
Complete Line Clearance.
Start Production Runs:
Follow process book/process sheet to start and document the process.
Flag missing steps/inaccurate setting information, if any, to Engineering for correction.
Submit first part for approval to QC and troubleshoot/make corrections as needed.
Monitor Production Runs:
Troubleshoot quality/processing issues as needed.
Ensure that all containers are properly covered to prevent contamination.
Ensure that hoppers/loaders have material available to ensure continued production.
Monitor unattended production runs to ensure process quality.
End of Run/End of Shift:
Work with Material Handler to verify material weights and return to storage, as needed.
Clean press area to be ready for next production run.
Maintain 5S Organization:
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certified Lift Truck Operator.
Prior experience as a Set Up Technician for Plastic Injection Molding.
Good math computation skills (addition, subtraction, percentages, ratios).
Good Time Management skills to maintain organized work environment, multi-task effectively.
Basic computer skills.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Ability to determine slight differences in color and other visual blemishes (molding defects).
Friendly, professional manner.
Commitment to accuracy and quality of work.
