Role Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Plastics Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production unit, you will play a vital role in contributing to the production, moulding, and fabrication of plastic products using techniques such as injection moulding, extrusion, and blow moulding.
Key Responsibilities
Moulding and Fabrication: Contribute to the production, moulding, and fabrication of plastic products using techniques like injection moulding, extrusion, and blow moulding.
Machinery Operation and Maintenance: Set up, operate, and maintain plastic processing machinery to ensure high-quality and safe production.
Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings to adjust machine settings and perform routine maintenance.
Requirements
Techincal Skills: Proficiency in blow moulding, extrusion, and injection moulding techniques; expertise in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Industry Experience: Experience in polymer processing, plastics technology, or related field; mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
Licenses and Certifications: Forklift license preferred.
Key Tasks and Experiences
Production Machinery Programming: Programs production machinery, using knowledge of polymers, additives, and other materials.
Machinery Inspection and Calibration: Inspects, calibrates, and regulates machines, and conducts ongoing basic quality control tests.
Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts machines which manufacture plastic products.
Scheduling and Planning: Prepares production and maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maximise productivity.
Quality Control and Improvement: Recommends technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance; completes routine quality checks on the product.
Coordination and Record-Keeping: Coordinates production and workflow processes, and keeps records of operational or production data.
