We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Policy and Market Regulation Consultant to join our consultancy team on a contracting basis, working closely with our client to provide expert guidance on policy development and regulatory compliance within the energy market. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives, driving advocacy efforts, and ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with our client's stakeholders to assess the impact of regulatory changes and develop strategies to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities.
Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, policy proposals, and regulatory developments to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Engage with industry regulators, government officials, and other stakeholders to influence policy outcomes and advocate for our client's interests.
Lead the preparation of submissions, briefings, and reports on regulatory matters, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
Provide expert advice and support to internal teams on compliance requirements, market rules, and best practices in policy advocacy.
Monitor legislative developments and participate in industry forums to stay abreast of emerging issues and anticipate future trends.
Drive cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing initiatives to enhance organizational capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience in policy analysis, regulatory affairs, or government relations within the energy or utilities sector.
Proven track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes and navigating complex regulatory environments.
Strong understanding of energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities, with experience interfacing with senior executives, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative team player with strong leadership qualities and a passion for driving positive change.
Contract Details:
Duration: 6-12-month contract, with possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.
Location: Sydney-based with the ability to work from home or from our client's offices as required.
Compensation: Competitive contract rate commensurate with experience and qualifications.
