The Opportunity
As a Policy Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies that contribute to improving the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will engage in research, stakeholder engagement, and project support to deliver evidence-based policy recommendations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Policy Development: Assist in researching and analysing policy issues to contribute to the creation of policy briefs, papers, and submissions.
Research: Support data collection and analysis activities, ensuring that evidence-based insights inform policy recommendations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in stakeholder meetings and forums, assisting in gathering feedback and fostering meaningful relationships.
Documentation and Reporting: Help prepare reports, briefing documents, and presentations to clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
Project Support: Provide assistance to policy-related projects, ensuring tasks are completed effectively and align with team objectives.
Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the team's success by sharing insights and learnings from research and engagement activities.
Professional Development: Stay informed of emerging trends and best practices, participating in skill development opportunities to enhance your expertise.

You will use your tertiary qualifications in health or relevant professional experience to contribute to policy development and implementation.
You will leverage your proven ability to deliver strategies that achieve measurable outcomes in the not-for-profit or public policy space.
You will demonstrate your excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently, even under pressure.
You will apply your understanding of policy development to assist in creating high-quality, evidence-based recommendations.
You will engage with stakeholders effectively to build strong relationships and foster collaboration on policy initiatives.
You will support project delivery by ensuring all components align with organisational goals and timelines.
