The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of Virginians. VDH is made up of a statewide Central Office in Richmond and 32 local health districts. The Western Tidewater Health District services the City of Franklin, the City of Suffolk, Isle of Wight County, and Southampton County.

The Population Health Manager provides or coordinates health improvement planning services in the local health district by planning, implementing, and evaluating health education activities and working closely with others to fulfill health improvement needs and goals. Minimum Qualifications

• Previous experience in public health and the assessment/improvement process preferred
• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) for Health Educators preferred
• Knowledge and experience creating public health marketing and communications campaigns
• Experience with a variety of contemporary communications tools and strategies, including website, social media, and print media
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
