If you are a highly skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator who will produce scalable software solutions in the Payments Domain, you'll be part of a cross-functional team that's responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL.

This individual will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our databases, as well as the planning and development of new databases to meet the needs of our growing organization.
Mandatory Skills
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in PostgreSQL database development, including installation, configuration, and maintenance in both test and production environments.
• Adept at monitoring and optimizing database performance through query optimization and index tuning.
• Proficient in executing regular database backups and conducting disaster recovery operations to ensure data integrity.
• Skilled in robust database security measures, including managing user access controls and implementing data encryption.
• Experience in creating and executing comprehensive database maintenance plans to maintain peak operational performance.
• Capable of working closely with developers to design and launch new database functionalities that align with project requirements.
• Ability to offer technical support and direction to team members, enhancing overall team productivity and knowledge.
• Proven competence in utilizing various database migration tools and effectively troubleshooting complex data migration issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge in cloud-based database solutions, with hands-on experience using migration tools on platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Strong strategic planning with the skills to make impactful decisions, manage stakeholder relationships, and proactively identify and mitigate potential project risks.
• An excellent collaborator, able to share expertise, create meaningful content, and foster a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with the wholesale payments domain is preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Lead the design, planning, and execution of complex data migration processes for PostgreSQL databases.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and the project team to identify and define the data migration requirements, document and communicate these effectively.
• Handle multiple functional projects simultaneously to understand data usage and its implications for successful data migration.
• Conduct thorough analyses of the source systems, data to ensure accurate source-to-target data mapping.
• Oversee the migration and validation of static and transaction data between core systems, ensuring data integrity throughout the process.
• Develop and implement best practices, processes, and standards for data migration activities, tailored to PostgreSQL environments.
• Actively manage risks associated with the data migration plan and monitor potential impacts to minimize disruption.
• Produce comprehensive end-user documentation that outlines the new data repository, migration processes, and best practices for future migrations.
Qualifications & Certification

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

Experience with cloud-based database solutions, such as AWS RDS or Google Cloud SQL.

Knowledge of other database technologies, such as MySQL or Oracle.
