The Practice Leader will develop and lead the regional implementation of a new agencywide professional practice framework and provide professional support and guidance to Practice Leaders to maintain the framework and enhance statutory and non-statutory practice and outcomes for children, young people and their families in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures. In addition, the position will be required to implement and contribute to strategies and provide support to staff to improve the way the agency works in the area of domestic violence, assessment and planning, meeting needs of children in care and developing cultural competency.
To be successful, you require an Australian tertiary qualification which gives eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Community Workers Association or the Australian Psychological Society or equivalent. A strong understanding of the principles and functions of supervising staff in the delivery of statutory and non-statutory welfare services, highly developed professional skills in conducting strength-based assessments, developing and delivering effective interventions and applying best practice principles. In addition, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
