About Us:

At the Department for Education, we believe that every child and young person deserves a great education. We have a strategy that aims to unlock every child's potential now and into the future, in partnership with learners, students, parents, and the wider South Australian community.

We strive to build a world-leading public education system that is equitable and prioritizes learning and wellbeing. Together, we will make our education system the best it can be, and when our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Principal Consultant to join our Performance Support Team. As a key member of the team, you will utilize your HR partnering and case management skills to provide high-quality support to an allocated portfolio of sites and people leaders across the Department.

Your primary focus will be on supporting leaders in effectively managing unsatisfactory performance and conduct concerns, as well as addressing non-compensable incapacity that may impact an employee's ability to carry out the inherent requirements of their role.

This is a supportive and collaborative team environment that allows for independence and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work proactively with your sites and leaders to achieve positive outcomes for our schools, employees, and students.

Maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct are essential qualities for this role. The work can be intensive, time-pressured, challenging, and at times politically sensitive, but our supportive team achieves great things together.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality HR/IR service to an allocated portfolio of sites and people leaders
Support leaders in managing unsatisfactory performance and conduct concerns
Address non-compensable incapacity impacting an employee's ability to carry out their role
Deliver continuous improvement initiatives and proactively partner with sites and leaders
Qualifications:
No specific qualifications are required, but a relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Human Resources, or similar is desirable.

Special Conditions:
A Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) is required prior to employment and must be renewed every five years before expiry
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course, which must be updated every three years
Remuneration:
$108,10+ - $116,864 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) ongoing role, and we encourage people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and/or those who have a disability to apply.

Applications should be made through the IWork For SA website. Additional attachments and application instructions are available on the website.
