About The School

Cardwell State School is located on the Cassowary Coast, approximately half way between Townsville and Cairns. It offers an educational program for years prep to year 6. The local day care centre is situated directly opposite the school and transition to prep programmes occur in term 4 each year. School hours are from 8:50am until 3pm.

There are three small schools in our catchment area and we work closely together as well as being part of the Ulysses Cluster of schools.

Our school motto is “Expand your horizons” and we endeavour to do this this through academic learning, music, sport, social events and community participation.

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
