Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience with designing and building user experiences and webservice applications while incorporating test automation frameworks
A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
7+ years of development experience with strong working knowledge of .NET, C#, JavaScript, Java, HTML5 and CSS3
Strong experience with ASP .NET
Continuous Integration - Jenkins / Stash / Git
SQL Server 201+ / T-SQL
Experience with PDF rendering and editing tools – e.g. Adobe Acrobat, PDFTron
Working knowledge of Angular, JavaScript, Java, HTML5, CSS3, XML, and UNIX
Experience with web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.) and Spring Boot
You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high risks and high rewards
Work as multi-stack engineer with knowledge in a breadth of development technologies and test automation frameworks (Java/J2EE, Junit, Cucumber, Selenium, Serenity, JavaScript/Angular)
Passionate about full stack software development, developing robust software, writing testable and maintainable code
You have a security first mindset, a practice of least privilege access, and a good understanding of various authentication and authorization techniques using B2B, C2B, etc. mechanism to safeguard account opening solutions and customer’s PII
In a perfect world, you have working experience with BDD, the ability to collaborate, and familiarity with relational databases and some scripting language, and knowledge of equities market and trading of stock, options, and mutual funds
You understand technical designs at the application level, define strategies, and collaborate closely with fellow developers
You can describe problems and recommend solutions to project leaders
You have great communication skills, are a team player, and have an aptitude for learning new technologies
Your analytical problem-solving skills

Job Description

Principal Software Engineer

The Fidelity Institutional Technology group at Fidelity Investments has an exceptional opportunity for a Software Engineer who is a self-starter, with Agile/Scrum based methodology experience working with modern web frameworks and tools including Angular, CSS3 and Spring Boot. You will be applying your strong development skills to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve FBT customer-facing software solutions and ensure we are building the right product the right way.

The Team

Our web applications are used by Registered Investment Advisors and Correspondents to deliver comprehensive brokerage solutions to our client's institutional customers, including account opening, reports and alerts, and risk management and compliance tools. We provide both development and production supports including incident troubleshooting.
