This purpose of this ROLE is:
Acts as a recognized technical expert in a strategic business application, technology, industry or ACI service offering. Functions as one of the highest level individual contributors in at least one technical area. Utilizes expertise in business management practices, industry requirements and information technology disciplines to develop technical and/or business solutions to client problems. Complies with all applicable ACI Time and Expense reporting processes and procedures. Approves and reports all time and expense information by the deadlines.
A Typical day at ACI for a Principal Solution Architect is:
Industry/Business Analysis:
Analyzes client’s business needs, integrates client’s business strategies and recommends appropriate information technology solutions utilizing ACI’s methodologies. Conducts analysis of corporate objectives, critical success factors, business functions and processes. Plans, integrates and manages the implementation of new technology.
Project Management:
Performs a variety of duties involved with managing large, strategic and/or multiple projects.
Establishes critical success factors for the project(s).
Develops/improves strategic processes and direction for projects
Develops project plans and Statements of Work early on in the project life cycle.
Solves highly technical and complex problems for project(s).
Guides and provides ultimate technical direction for projects
Contributes to knowledge management by documenting best practices and forwarding to knowledge management repositories
Business Development/Sales Support:
Significantly contributes to the regional/product’s business development and sales support efforts for a particular territory, industry or account. Aligns business development activities with regional/product’s business needs.
Contributes to the development and execution of overall business and marketing plans
Identifies new business opportunities
Meets with prospective, current and former clients describing and defining ACI’s services particularly as they relate to area of specialty
Prepares and presents detailed presentations to extend existing, develop additional and create new client contracts
Identifies staff that matches client/project need
Mentoring Employees:
Maintains mentoring relationships with employees instructing, motivating, guiding and counseling as necessary.
Supervision:
Manages projects and balances competing demands in an environment with rapidly changing circumstances and priorities. Responsible for meeting project schedules and deadlines and apprises management of progress.
Perform other duties as assigned
Understand and Adhere to all Corporate Policies to include but not limited to ACI Code of Ethics and Global Information Security.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to succeed in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant studies
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
Strong communication skills
Strong technical skills in Online and Batch program coding and debugging
Understanding online transaction processing, worked on financial transaction switches
Experience in inter-system and application interfaces in SNA and TCPIP connectivity.
Knowledge with transaction security, EMV; experience working with HSMs e.g. Thales, Atalla, Eracom, etc,
In-depth knowledge of ISO 8583 (1+87 or 1++3) message formats
Experience (preferably to have done certifications) with global card schemes e.g. VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, MEPS
Experience with CDM, CRM, ATM and POS device-driving
Understanding of project lifecycle, SDLC
