Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience with thin-film deposition or precision component fabrication tools, including fundamental understanding of operation, process controls and programming (Vacuum Systems, Gas Delivery / Distribution, Control Systems)
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of electrical / electronic systems including process automation/material handling
Demonstrated experience in materials, materials science and/or materials chemistry
Teamwork and Communication: Able to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization
Surface treatments related to PVD coating deposition
Surface treatments honing (wet blasting, dry blasting and brush hone)
Lean manufacturing principles
Data analysis and related software (i.e
Minitab)
Responsibilities
Responsible for all engineering related aspects of Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating deposition in a manufacturing environment to include process (material science) equipment, related automation, and analysis (quality), and Surface treatment (brush honing, wet blast, dry blast), equipment operation, quality, etc
Provide technical & process support to plant manufacturing processes and systems
Lead start-up effort for new processes and/or equipment
Diagnose operating problems and monitor process performance
Develop capital project ideas and scope of work to address bottleneck issue and process improvement opportunities
Identify, recommend, and implement changes to optimize production aimed at maximizing productivity (yield, time cycle, consistency) and quality while minimizing cost, safety hazards, and environmental releases
Assist engineering and maintenance in ensuring that projects installed in the plant are according to design and operators-friendly
Provide solutions to a variety of process problems by use and application of standard engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and process simulation software
Serve as in-house technical process expertise for operations within the plant to solve processing issues, providing specification of process equipment and instrumentation

Job Summary:
