A leading market wholesaler is looking for a Product Developer to join one of their growing brands. Fun & collaborative office!

Full Job Description
The product developer is a support role across the design and development team helping to bring their products to life across global markets and across their brand portfolio. This role’s primary responsibility is to manage the production of their garments to ensure they are produced correctly to brief, and quality and timeline requirements. This role reports directly to the Head Designer.

Responsibilities:

Assist designers to develop seasonal specs and tech packs
Measure prototypes and samples (according to company established standards), organise fit model and prepare relevant notes prior to all fit sessions.
Generate comprehensive fit comments and manage communication with factories.
Range release administration and preparation (e.g Backbone data, seasonal line sheets for marketing)
Constant communication with factories to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality prototypes, and GMS samples.
Following range finalisation and prototype approval, ensure accurate hand over of each range to Production Team in order to facilitate on time delivery of salesman samples.
Measure all approval samples. From prototype to final production.
Plan and execute fit sessions, in liaison with designer, of entire wholesale SMS range.
Plan and execute fit sessions, in liaison with designer, of all pre-production samples.
Daily communication with makers to ensure qualitative and respectful working relationship.
Quality control over trims, garment woven labels, swing tags and packaging of styles.
Follow up with suppliers regularly to ensure critical pathway management is kept on track and deadlines are met on time.
About you:
Experience in development of denim products.
Experience in development of apparel products.
Experience liaising with overseas suppliers is imperative
Experience in pre-production
Understanding of the production process
Sound understanding in textiles/fabrics
Fit testing knowledge. Preferable across multiple fashion categories.
Garment construction knowledge.
Negotiating costs with suppliers
Skilled in Excel & illustrator
