Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the supervision of shift operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operations of Paint/Coating manufacturing department. The Production Supervisor is accountable for meeting goals related to Safety, Quality, People, Service, and Cost. This position will review operations to ensure the attainment of assigned goals and will be responsible for anticipating and taking proactive measures to resolve operational concerns. This position is also accountable for leading an engaged workforce that ensures positive employee relations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensuring Site EHS, Quality, Regulatory policies & procedures are followed in Production floor.
• Supervising and monitoring daily production activities to achieve target.
• Manpower allotment in shift.
• Managing operator & guide operator for daily routine activities.
• Ensuring all in process checks are carried as per process guidelines.
• Planning for availability of consumables, raising requisition & monitoring stock level in department.
• Creating new WI/SOP/SPL for making operation easy & training to operator.
• Maintaining and improving 5S of production floor.
• Comfortable in working 1 st , 2 nd & 3 rd shift.
• Maintaining good housekeeping of the plant.
• Coordination with other department for smooth running of the plant.
• Suggestion and implementation of Kaizen, Cost savings projects.
• Analysis of off spec products.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure Visual standards are maintained within SW guidelines. Implement Company expectations of standards, maintenance, and cleanliness.

Major Tasks Include
• Coach, train, discipline, motivate and manage hourly manufacturing employees.
• Promote and maintain positive employee relations and a total quality-working environment with employees.
• Act as a positive liaison between employees and management.
• Maintain Housekeeping Excellence standards for shift and department.
• Meet and/or exceed departmental goals.
• Manage electronic timecards for employees for production and/or payroll.
• Perform annual performance appraisals with each employee.
• Support the site safety programs, implement new safety procedures, recommend safety improvements, and assure safety compliance to create and maintain a safe work environment for employees.
• Be familiar with the equipment and operating procedures in order to make educated judgment decisions and recognize defective equipment or substandard product and utilize appropriate resources to resolve.
• Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Revise production schedules and prioritize as a result of equipment failure, operating problems, personnel, etc.
• Assure all team members are properly trained in critical areas of safety, housekeeping, time management, quality standards and continuous improvement. Transition new team members into the team quickly and efficiently upon assignment.
• Demonstrate leadership that is consistent with the Company’s vision, mission, and values.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• B. SC/M.SC Chemistry – Analytical/Organic or B. Tech/ BE - Chemical Engineering

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• 3 to 6 years of work experience in Paint production and individual shift handling.
• Strong Leadership skills
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving of large-scale machinery
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills
• Aptitude for continuous improvement
• Coaching and training skills
• Paint & Coating Industry preferable

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• Paint production operation and handling.
• Auditing.
• PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applications as required.
• Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.
• Focus on general product-level safety.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Positions in this class typically require typing, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
• Exerting up to 40 Kg of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 Kg of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Pleasant looks and harmonious relationships with Internal Teams and colleagues.
