Primary Objective
The position provides specialist contract administration advice, reporting, procurement, and budget management services supporting the
delivery of the Adelaide River Off-stream Water Storage Project.
Context Statement
Infrastructure NT, the Northern Territory’s infrastructure body, undertakes strategic infrastructure planning and development that co-
ordinates and aligns infrastructure needs with economic and population growth, and delivers nationally significant infrastructure projects.
The AROWS project is unique and innovative major water infrastructure project that can deliver complementary outcomes of water
availability and environmental sustainability on a scale not seen anywhere else in Australia.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide advice and support to the AROWS team to ensure that projects and contracts are compliant with business processes and
accountabilities.
2. Provide all data recording, documentation and record keeping.
3. Process and monitor the financial administration of projects and contracts to ensure that cash flow and expenditure targets are met.
4. Establish an excellent working relationship with clients and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, on all matters relating
to project administration.
5. Work closely with the AROWS team and greater infrastructure NT division to coordinate and assist in the preparation of
correspondence and reports.
6. Provide administrative support to the AROWS team to assist in day-to-day operations.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability in project and contract administration and associated budget, financial and procurement processes.
2. Proven ability in the use of a range of data management, financial management and project management systems such as MS Office
programs and NT government systems, or ability to acquire.
3. High-level skills in maintaining data integrity with thoroughness, attention to detail and accuracy, and high-level numeracy and
reconciliation skills.
4. High standards of client focus with the ability to be flexible in dealing with a range of complex projects concurrently.
5. Well-developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain and present complex information
in a logical and meaningful manner to a range of audiences.
6. Proven ability to work independently, and as a member of a team, to achieve outcomes and to prioritise workloads and effectively
manage time to achieve multiple and conflicting deadlines.
7. Demonstrated understanding of, and sensitivity to, cross-cultural issues.
Desirable
1. A sound knowledge of the Northern Territory Government (or similar jurisdiction) project and contract administration procedures and
systems and relevant legislation and guidelines.
2. Experience in project and contract administration of Capital and or Minor New Works programs or ability to acquire.
