The Dynamic Psychotherapy & Psychology Centre is seeking a Psychologist in Autonomous Practice or Supervised Practice to join our team. We are a thriving group practice with a very healthy flow of referrals. We are currently looking to expand our team with a skilled, passionate, conscientious, and motivated psychologist to help meet our centre’s clinical demands by providing high quality and effective care. At DPPC, we are passionate about helping clients address their unconscious patterns, intrapsychic conflicts, and underlying emotional sources of their symptoms to facilitate meaningful and lasting change. We take a client-centred approach based on well-established and evidence-based psychodynamic principles and emotion science with a focus on tailoring our services to meet the unique needs of each individual. We provide services virtually to clients across Ontario as well as in-person in Kingston, Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Psychodiagnostic assessments: Completing comprehensive psychological assessments according to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
Psychological treatment: Individual treatment planning and interventions using evidence-based treatment models (knowledge of psychodynamic, emotion focused, experiential, attachment-based modalities is an asset but not required). Group and couples therapy are also available if there is interest, skill, and experience.
Using a feedback-informed approach by monitoring treatment progress with the aid of symptom questionnaires to ensure quality of care.
Corresponding and consulting with third party case managers to ensure clients receive well coordinated circle of care.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members.
Optional: Providing supervision to practicum students or student associates.

For Psychologists in Supervised Practice, we have both primary and secondary supervision available.
Administrative support: All systems including secure client records managing system, telehealth, fax, are provided .We have administrative assistance for handling scheduling, billing, faxing, and corresponding with third party payers. This means you get to focus on what you enjoy the most, your clinical work!
Ample referrals: We review a healthy flow of inquiries and referrals to meet your desired caseload.
Flexibility in scheduling: You determine your own schedule.
For those interested in seeing clients in-person, we provide offices in our beautifully decorated space, with a waiting area, staff lunch room, and staff bathroom. Option to work fully-virtual or on a hybrid model is available.
Position details:
Job type and Hours: Part-time to full-time hours are available. We require a minimum of 12 client hours a week.
Term: One-year contract as an independent contractor. Contract may be renewed. The contract starts upon successful hiring.
Pay: We offer competitive pay. The exact rate is determined by your level of training and experience.
Schedule: You determine your own schedule.
Location: Hybrid model or remote. In-person services provided in our Kingston, Ontario, office, and virtual services via secure video telehealth for clients across Ontario.
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
Only applicants with a license with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) as an autonomous or supervised practice member will be considered.
CPO Authorized area of practice: Clinical Psychology.
Excellent psychodiagnostic assessment skills.
Ability to work independently.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date of best practices in the field of psychotherapy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional boundaries in all aspects of the job, as is required by ethical guidelines and applicable laws.
Ability to complete documentation in a time manner.
Assets:
Working knowledge of various therapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy and a willingness to work with clients from a psychodynamic, emotion-focused, attachment-based, and relational framework.
Experience using online practice management software (i.e. Owl Practice, Jane App).
Ability and experience providing psychological services using video-based online software.
Experience working with veterans or Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), members of the Canadian Armed Forces, or WSIB.
