Duties

The Established Opinion Leaders (EOL) Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the EOL Specialist for Political Affairs (EOL Specialist POL) or Public Affairs Officer (PAO) designee and has no supervisory responsibilities. Supports Public Diplomacy (PD) engagement with established opinion leaders focused on political issues, including influential individuals and institutions such as think tanks, syndicates, labor unions, professional associations, civil society organizations, prominent academics, and professional training institutions. Designs and recommends Public Diplomacy strategies to connect with EOL audiences to build and sustain productive dialogue and to promote understanding of and support for U.S. policy. Plans, develops, coordinates, oversees and evaluates projects and initiatives to engage EOL subject matter experts and the audiences they reach under the direction of the EOL Specialist (POL).

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in a multilingual, multicultural, or multinational work environment is required, with project management,
marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job. Please describe your previous and current job responsibilities in detail.


Key Requirements:

University degree is required.
Three-year experience is required. (See experience section)
Fluency in English and Hindi or Gujarati or Marathi language is required.

Education Requirements:

University degree in international relations, political science, communications, American studies, intercultural/multicultural studies or local equivalent is required.. Please specify the name of the Certificate/Degree/Diploma course and the major subjects for each qualification you possess.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Fluency (Speaking, reading and writing) in English is required. Fluency (Speaking, reading and writing) in Hindi OR Gujarati OR Marathi is required. This may be tested. Please specify in your application your level of proficiency in each language listed here.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
