Job Title: Biostatistics Assistant Director
About the Role:
This is a full-time faculty position responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of biostatisticians, statisticians, and data analysts.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management: Set departmental goals, allocate resources, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of statistical services.
2. Study Design and Analysis: Collaborate with researchers and scientists to design research studies, clinical trials, or experiments using statistical methodologies, sample size calculations, and data analysis plans implemented in software packages such as SAS, R, or SPSS.
3. Data Management: Ensure data quality, integrity, and security used in statistical analyses by developing data collection, cleaning, and validation procedures, collaborating with data management teams, and establishing robust data infrastructure.
4. Statistical Consulting: Provide expert statistical advice and support to researchers, clinicians, and other professionals, analyzing and interpreting complex data, identifying trends, patterns, and relationships, and communicating findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, presenting statistical findings, study results, and recommendations to diverse audiences including scientific conferences, regulatory agencies, and executive leadership.
6. Training and Development: Identify training needs within the biostatistics team, develop professional development plans, mentor and support team members by providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
