Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Management System (QMS):
• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in alignment with industry standards (FSSAI, ISO, HACCP).
• Formulate and enforce quality policies and procedures across different SBUs, including Bakery, Milk Beverages, Frozen Food, and Culinary divisions.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in quality processes, reducing defects, and enhancing product consistency.
2. Product Quality Assurance:
• Oversee in-process quality control and ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
• Manage the final product testing to confirm adherence to required specifications before product release.
• Inspect and approve raw materials, ensuring they meet quality standards before entering production.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs:
• Ensure full compliance with local and international regulatory requirements (FSSAI, NABL).
• Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, maintaining up-to-date documentation.
• Manage quality-related records, including audit reports, certifications, and regulatory submissions.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead and mentor QA/QC teams, including officers, inspectors, and laboratory staff.
• Identify training needs and conduct training sessions to enhance the skill set of QA/QC and production teams.
• Monitor team performance, providing feedback, and implementing improvement plans as needed.
5. Customer and Stakeholder Management:
• Address and resolve quality-related customer complaints in coordination with the customer service and sales teams.
• Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) team to ensure new products meet quality standards during trials and production runs.
• Work closely with suppliers to assess and manage the quality of incoming materials, conducting supplier audits as necessary.
6. Process Control and Improvement:
• Analyze production processes to identify areas for quality enhancement, implementing changes to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Utilize data analysis to track quality performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
7. Laboratory and Testing Oversight:
• Manage the operations of the in-house laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely testing of products.
• Collaborate with the lab team to develop and validate new test methods.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment according to industry standards.
8. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
• Ensure all quality control procedures comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Monitor and control the environmental impact of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
+. Internal and External Communication:
• Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance, non-conformities, and improvement plans to senior management.
• Work cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, HR, and other departments to ensure quality standards are upheld.
• Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies to ensure ongoing compliance and certification.
10. Innovation and Best Practices:
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in quality management and incorporate them into the manufacturing setup.
• Explore and implement new technologies to enhance quality control and assurance.
Desired Candidate Profile:
• Experience: 5-7 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control only from the food and beverage industry.
• Education: B.Tech/M.Tech in Food Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or related field.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of QMS, FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, and other relevant standards; excellent leadership and team management abilities; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in quality management or food safety are a plus.
