This is an entry level/early career position. The Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Associate I is responsible for reviewing and verifying the Safety and Health Programs, Procedures, and Training Pre-qualification requirements on behalf of AVETTA Clients and Supplier Members. The APAC Region includes (but not limited to) Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

If residing within commutable distance to our Sydney or Newcastle office, a hybrid schedule would be offered (3 days in office, 2 days work from home).

Please note: This role requires full working rights in Australia without current or future sponsorship, proof of this is required to be produced in the final stages of selection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct Manual Audits and client specific audits in Avetta Connect, to assess a Contractor's Safety and Health Policies, Procedures, and Training documentation required based on exposure hazards associated with scope of works performed. The Audits are intended to ensure supply chain compliance with applicable WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards and legislation (Region, State, Territory, etc.) and any Client site requirements. In addition, the QHSE Associate I will be responsible for the following

Conduct Manual, Implementation, and/or Field QHSE Audits and guide suppliers with closing gaps or deficiencies from the audit.
Assist suppliers with addressing gaps or deficiencies from the audit using Avetta QHSE CARES Approach.
Respond promptly to supplier inquiries.
Record details of inquiries, comments, and escalations within the Suppliers Account Notes.
Forward customer complaints or concerns to the Designated HSE Lead or Manager in a timely manner.
Follow Avetta's Professional standards with Avetta's Priority Behaviors.
Be available to travel to conduct WHS site audits – access to reliable transportation therefore required.
Record details of enquiries, comments and complaints within Salesforce including handling talk desk inbound voice messages.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to interpret and make decisions based on WHS standards and legislation, plus industry best practices, and/or Client requirements
An affinity for learning online software systems
Working PC knowledge, windows preferred and related applications
Ability to multitask and manage priorities
Adaptable to workload fluctuations and intensive deadlines (Time management)
Good written and oral communication skills
Problem analysis and problem-solving
Ability to read and interpret statistical data, information, and documents
Attention to detail and accuracy
Self-Motivated and driven to succeed
Ability to learn and apply new information or skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:

A current Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety or APAC region equivalent
Excellent knowledge of APAC applicable Region WHS Standards and Legislation
1 year of relevant work experience in the safety profession (e.g., working within Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental department/s, or working as a safety role, or working for an Assessment Body carrying out WHS assessments)
Safety and Health Program development and/or revision is an advantage
Working knowledge of the relevant high-risk industries we serve is an advantage
Lead Auditor Qualification in either or all ISO certifications (ISO +001, 14001 and /or ISO 45001)
Working knowledge of relevant country/ies Health & Safety legislation and practices.
Experience in writing complex technical enablement material/content.
Ability to interpret and make decisions applicable to work health safety regulatory legislation and standards.
Excellent verbal, written, listening and presentation skills.
Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Teams and Salesforce.
Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, customers and third parties.
