About The Role
QT Melbourne is seeking full time + casual superstar chefs to join our kitchen team, working across our signature restaurant Pascale Bar & Grill as well as our Rooftop. Deli QT and Conferencing & Events kitchens. This is an opportunity to work in an expansive and well equipped modern kitchen, focused around our Josper oven and four point charcoal grill.
Key Responsibilities;
Ensure that QT Melbourne produces a high quality food product at all times.
Demonstrate superior recipe knowledge for every item on the menu.
Monitor food quality and quantity as it relates to portion control.
Monitor all food storage facilities to ensure that proper storage techniques are being used and that the cleanliness standards are being maintained.
Prepare and properly garnish all pantry items including salads, sandwiches, desserts, as well as the established menu and specialty items.
Requisition the appropriate amount of food product in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
Ensure that all standard recipes are followed in all outlets.
Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
Comply with all of the established operational policies & procedures.
Maintain a clean & safe working environment.
Have a full knowledge of, and practice all of the established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
Perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Chef.

Skills & Experience
Culinary Expertise – Strong cooking skills, particularly in grill techniques (Josper oven & four-point charcoal grill).
Recipe Knowledge – Ability to memorize and execute menu items precisely.
Food Presentation & Garnishing – Attention to detail in plating and presentation.
Portion Control – Understanding of food costs and efficient portioning.
Food Storage & Safety – Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices.
Time Management – Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Teamwork & Communication – Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and service teams.
Adaptability – Flexibility to work across different outlets (Pascale Bar & Grill, Rooftop, Deli QT, Events).
OH&S Knowledge – Understanding of occupational health and safety regulations in a commercial kitchen.
Inventory & Ordering – Ability to requisition ingredients and maintain stock levels.
