We are seeking a Quality Technologist to play a key role in maintaining product quality and consistency by carrying out thorough checks on raw materials and finished products at global co-manufactures and our MK manufacturing site.
This role is split between our HQ in Tring, Hertfordshire and our Milton Keynes factory. In Tring, you will support the Technical team and co-manufacturers, while in Milton Keynes, you will focus on raw material testing, lab registration and supporting Technical Managers on BRC compliance.
Manage the testing schedule for finished products across co-manufactures and in-house manufacturing sites.
Take appropriate action on finished goods, controlling food safety, allergens, heavy metals and any other risks to the business.
Review and support risk assessments on micro & allergen testing, working collaboratively with the Head of Technical and Senior Ingredients Technical Manager.
Support/answer any complex customer queries on regulations or compliance e.g. questions on allergens or label queries.
Host quarterly lab meetings across the UK and US to review performance and seek improvements.
Manage monthly technical KPI scoring by collating data and producing it into charts.
Manage 3rd party accreditations such as Kosher, Halal, Vegan Society, NSF (US) and non-GMO (US).
Raise POs for finished product testing at Milton Keynes & raw material testing.
Check Milton Keynes training matrix once a month and be responsible for updating it. Audit the gaps and organise any required training.
Support to MK based Technical manager in MK Complaints trending and attend weekly complaints meeting.
Supporting any Technical changes in the product or team and focus on driving business improvement through identifying key initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone with around 1+ years of experience in a similar position within a food manufacturing business who is looking to progress. A degree in Science, Maths, or a food-related field would be a bonus.
Exposure to, and an understanding of food manufacturing processes is also essential. You will have a thorough understanding of food safety criteria, and an understanding of food legislation and food manufacturing standards.
You will also have knowledge/exposure to accreditations such as BRC, SQF (GFSI), Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO & NSF.
