R&D/Technology Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to create products, systems, services, or technologies for ABB’s business units. Each day, you will facilitate the end-to-end execution of one or more Research and Development projects. You will also showcase your expertise by achieving associated milestones, targets, and desired outcomes.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Process Automation Business of Process Industry Division in Bangalore .
You will be mainly accountable for:
• Project Planning and Estimation: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget estimates.
• Agile Methodology Implementation: Lead the adoption and implementation of Agile practices, such as Scrum or Kanban, to ensure iterative and incremental delivery of software products.
• Stage-Gate Process Management: Oversee projects through various stage-gates, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards and timely progression through each phase.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with global stakeholders, including clients, team members, and executives, to communicate project status, gather requirements, and manage expectations.
Qualifications for the role
• Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Development, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software product development or engineering roles, with at least 5 years in project management.
• Agile Expertise: Proven experience in implementing and managing Agile software development methodologies.
• Stage-Gate Process Knowledge: Familiarity with stage-gate processes in product development and experience managing projects through these phases.
• Industrial Software Development: Experience with industrial software product development processes and best practices.
• Global Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and communicate effective-ly with stakeholders across different geographies and cultures.
