To temporarily staff our R&D team in Canada at full capacity, we are looking for:
R&D Technician Fillings & Decor (4 Months Contract)
( Mississauga, Ontario, Canada )
Your Mission
Reporting directly to the R&D Director Patisserie, you will support local research, development and/or adaptation of Fruit, Cream and Decors in the Company in order to contribute to the business growth and operational efficiency. Provide expertise and assistance to ensure optimal design, product and process parameters to ensure smooth scale up of products.
What you will do
Product Development & Innovation
Develop new products aligned with innovation plans and customer needs.
Adapt existing formulas for cost efficiency, productivity, and regulatory compliance.
Transition to cleaner labels and rationalize raw materials.
Laboratory Operations & Technical Support
Perform lab tasks: weighing ingredients, baking, cleaning, and documentation.
Prepare evaluations and maintain records of trials and results.
Support R&D team with various lab-related duties.
Production & Quality Support
Assist in scaling up new products for production.
Ensure compliance with Total Quality Management (TQM) standards.
Design and implement standardized performance tests.
Food Safety & Compliance
Follow food safety procedures during development and sample preparation.
Report food safety and quality issues promptly.
Ensure confidentiality and good intellectual property practices.
Documentation & Adminstrative Accuracy
Maintain accurate technical documentation and trial records.
Support administrative tasks related to product development and innovation.
Adhere to 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies.
What we expect from you
Education: Academic degree in food science or related discipline
Experience: Minimum 1 years of experience in food product development / technical sales, ideally in baking industry
Skills: Proficiency in MS Office. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. SAP understanding is an asset.
Competencies: proactive, scientifically minded professional with analytical and organizational skills. Creative, adaptable, and passionate about food; excel in dynamic environments and thrive on collaboration and customer-focused innovation.
