About the role
In this role you be responsible for working alongside communities, organisations and internal business units in key settings that provide a platform for increased participation in recreation, sport and play by Hutt City residents.
Key responsibilities include
Supporting and enabling sport/community groups to lead physical activity events and opportunities
Leading, enabling and supporting the delivery of community pilots which promote and encourage innovation of our recreation, sport and play system
Leading key events and programmes in the sport and recreation space
Engaging with the community to identify needs, conceptualise, develop and implement programmes
Supporting Council wide initiatives within the event and outdoors portfolios
About You
The successful applicant will possess -
Proven experience in the sport and/or recreation field
Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
Finely tuned facilitation and project management skills
Strong ability to multitask
Current drivers' licence
The following is advantages, though not essential -
Relevant tertiary qualification i.e., sports science/recreation/community
Experience in engaging with Mana Whenua
