Position Summary
The Recreational Sports & Allen Sports Club Manager oversees operations related to the activities and development of the Recreational Sports and Allen Sports Club programs. The Manager will be involved in ensuring the success of the intramural, club sports, outdoor recreation, fitness, and aquatic activities, and the Allen Sports Club. The position is for twelve months, is full-time, and includes periodic evenings and weekends. Student leadership development is an important aspect of this position which includes training and evaluating the risk management procedures of the recreational and ASC programs. Provide visionary leadership and direction for campus-wide recreation programs. This position also serves other needs of the Athletics department, including collaboration with other campus organizations. The Manager will add and oversee rentals, rental equipment, and activities to enhance revenue for the institution while enhancing the experience for the campus community.

Intramural, Club Sports, Outdoor Recreation, Fitness and Aquatics

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and submit proposals to enhance all aspects of the campus recreation programs. Lead the planning and development of all programs and special events.
Provide leadership, guidance and advice to student groups for new and future recreational sports and rentals. Support student groups in their desire to sponsor various student related recreational events.
Design and develop a regular series of recreational events for the student population throughout the year. Design and develop revenue generating activities throughout the summer for Conlan Rec Center members and the campus community.
Responsible for cultivating and developing corporate relationships that could serve as potential partnerships for the Athletics Department and University as well as Rec Sports.
Participate as a member of the Student Life and Athletics Division through attendance at regularly scheduled departmental and divisional meetings, retreats, and events. Attend meetings and conferences directly related to the campus recreation program.
Oversee the program budget and schedule. Manage university contracts for club activities. Collect and maintain accurate records of participation and other pertinent data. Oversee the purchase of uniforms, giveaways and awards needed for the campus recreation programs.
Coordinate all club and outdoor recreation travel and arrangements, as needed.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise intramural supervisors, officials, fitness instructors, personal trainers, swim instructors and outdoor trip leaders.
Develop, implement and oversee a plan for communicating, publicizing, marketing and promoting all campus recreational programs.
Evaluate programs and make recommendations. Prepare assessments of current programming. Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports on the campus recreation program.

Allen Sports Club

The Program Coordinator for the Allen Athletic Club will be responsible for all administrative functions involved with the development and operational needs of the Allen Athletic Club after school outreach program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate marketing efforts to local high schools and middle schools to identify participants.
Ensure program's compliance with NCAA Division II policies.
Manage student-athlete trainings and first-aid sessions for coaches and officials
Recruit volunteers and design a volunteer incentive and recognition program.
Coordinate transportation for participants to Dominican University from their respective schools.
Procure equipment for sports leagues
Identify, cultivate and solicit corporate sponsorships to support program.
Create risk management plan for all Allen Athletic Club events.
Provide on-site supervision during all on-campus events.
Responsible for other duties and special projects assigned.

Qualifications:

Must possess a Bachelor's degree. Master's preferred.
Minimum of two years professional experience in higher education. Prior experience working with university academic policies and resources.
Experience creating and coordinating recreational programs and events.
Knowledge and ability to handle health and safety emergencies.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours required.
Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity, and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with NIRSA (National Intramural Recreational Sports Association) and its resources.
Able to use MS Office programs, university academic systems.
Certification in CPR, FA and AED.
Must be willing and able to drive departmental vehicles (and have a clean driving record evidenced by a positive DMV pull).
