Primary objective
Deliver objective, accurate, quality-assured, and timely analysis and reporting that is critical to Northern Territory government agencies
and meets national reporting obligations.
Context statement
The Reporting and Analytics function sits within Data Services and more broadly, the Department of Corporate and Digital Development,
Digital Services team. It comprises a number of smaller teams that support different government agencies through data management,
analysis and reporting requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
Manage own time and resources and provide training, peer review, or supervision as required, within the team to effectively deliver
routine and ad hoc management and performance reporting in line with service delivery standards.
Provide advice on issues and developments related to the collection and management of data.
Facilitate continuous improvement by assisting with the implementation of systems, processes and standards enabling accurate and
timely provision of data and reports that meet evolving client requirements.
Assist with validation functions and procedures to quality assure data and reports.
Contribute to the overall planning of the Data Services team with an excellent understanding of reporting tools and techniques which
enhance reporting outcomes for clients.
Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of information is maintained per the client’s protocols and legislation.
Work collaboratively with clients and peers to increase capability by providing training, resources and materials, support, and advice
in various reporting environments.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to manipulate, analyse, interpret, and present complex data sourced from various reporting environments and
data sources.
2. An excellent understanding of reporting and analytics service delivery in a large organisation with the ability to use enterprise business
intelligence applications for management reporting, and sound knowledge and experience in querying databases.
3. Demonstrated project management skills to support development and maintenance of standard reporting environments including
governance and auditing requirements.
4. Demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders to identify and deliver organisational, national, and other reporting
requirements.
5. High level analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise commitments to meet critical
deadlines while maintaining high quality data and reporting standards.
6. Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to present data
and information to various audiences.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates the Department’s values of professionalism, accountability, honesty,
innovation, and respectfulness.

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Data related field of study
