Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to provide research and administrative support to two physicians in the Division of Cardiac Surgery.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, highly competent individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong devotion to patients, and a good understanding of clinical, research and ethical practice, who possesses the knowledge and skills needed to work in a clinical and research environment.
Responsibilities
Administrative support
Serve as point of contact between the surgeon and patients, referring physicians, and clinical staff.
Coordinate with hospital and clinic scheduling teams for operative cases and outpatient visits.
Manage and maintain calendars, including clinical, surgical, academic, and personal appointments.
Coordinate and schedule meetings, conferences, and speaking engagements.
Provide physician billing support to OHIP/RSMO.
Research support
Support day-to-day operations and responsibilities of ongoing research projects in conjunction with research team members and Division Research Manager, to ensure completion of project deliverables and outputs, including but not limited to:
REB submissions.
Data collection and data entry.
Participant recruitment and follow-up.
Actively contribute to the participant recruitment strategy and activities.
Regularly meet with study investigators and research staff.
Coordinate participant assessments according to the research protocol.
Collect and enter participant data and conduct data quality assessment activities using tools including DACIMA and REDCAP, as well as be onboarded with use of EPIC and other clinical platforms.
Help keep CVs up to date.
Requirements
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French).
BSc in a health-related field or equivalent work experience.
Dedication to our patient-first Divisional culture.
Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Experience in a clinical research environment; willingness to progressively seek and obtain research assistant qualifications (which, upon mutual agreement, we will support).
Experience with OHIP and RSMO billing is an asset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
