This implementation research project focuses on developing a successful model to deliver 12 comprehensive primary healthcare (CPHC) services through the public health system across all health and wellness centers by emphasizing quality, equity, and core values. This project will be undertaken by the Centre for Healthcare at IIM Udaipur in collaboration with Basic Healthcare Services.

Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM Udaipur) is one of the fastest-growing management schools in the country. It has already achieved global rankings and accreditation, putting it alongside or ahead of many B-schools established much earlier. Taking the legacy of older IIMs forward, IIMU aspires to set new benchmarks in management education by combining excellence in teaching and research. A research-led centre at IIMU, the Centre for Healthcare, was conceptualized in early 2020 to fill the gap of rigorous healthcare research in India on the Indian context from the management lens. Its objective is to bring together academicians from management, public health, practitioners, and research-active medical professionals to understand and solve fundamental issues in healthcare in low and middle-income countries (LMIC).

Basic Healthcare Services is a not-for-profit organization that provides primary healthcare services in the tribal-rural belt of Udaipur and Salumbar districts. It reaches the most vulnerable communities through a network of responsive primary healthcare centres called AMRIT clinics. BHS offers a continuum of preventive, promotive, and curative care while using a combination of innovations in human resources and technology. BHS is one of the leading voices on primary healthcare in India and extensively documents and writes on issues related to the healthcare of marginalized populations in the lay press and scientific journals.
