Job Description

We are looking for a Research Technician II to join our laboratory team, where we investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of normal and diseased hematopoiesis using zebrafish and human tissue culture cells. This position will conduct human tissue culture, cloning, mutagenesis, transgenesis, flow cytometry, microscopy, zebrafish husbandry, ordering, genotyping, and assist with maintaining and organizing the zebrafish facility and laboratory.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral). The candidate will have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

This position offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn and master a wide array of techniques in a stimulating research environment. Our lab employs diverse methods, including flow cytometry, microscopy, molecular biology, animal models, and tissue culture with a focus on human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and the study of blood disorders. This role is perfect for those interested in human health and blood disorders, as it provides hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies.

The work schedule is somewhat flexible, offering a great work-life balance, and the benefits are truly outstanding—benefits you won't easily find in other positions. While the initial appointment is for one year, there is an excellent opportunity for renewal, with strong potential for long-term employment and promotion within the lab. Our research is supported by some of the best funding sources in the country, including NIH R01 grants, and our work is regularly published in high-impact journals like Nature Communications. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a well-funded, innovative lab with the possibility of building a long-term career in scientific research.
