The Opportunity

The Retirement Plan Specialist plays a key role in coordinating the administrative aspects of AgeCare’s retirement plans to ensure compliance with plan rules.

What You Will Do

Overseeing the tracking of employee eligibility to ensure timely enrolment and distribution of required plan materials.

Work with site leadership and HR administration to coordinate plan enrolment and changes.

Track and monitor day to day administration, including changes in contributions, plan participation, requests for withdrawal of funds, contributions on leave of absence (LOA) and other related actions, to ensure accuracy in documentation and processing.

Ensure completion of HR reporting (personal information, leave of absence, etc.) in line with plan requirements.

Oversee quality assurance for transactional plan administration.

Analyze and support complex retirement plan escalations and inquiries.

Provide guidance and consultation within HR and to leaders across the organization on retirement plan matters, including plan rules and governance requirements.

Create and streamline plan administration processes for accuracy and efficiency. Build process maps and job aids to support operations teams.

Support with plan member communications.

Review and analyze enrolment data and other reporting. Assess reporting needs and work with vendors/partners to design and test report output that will meet current and future requirements.

Maintain knowledge of industry trends and legislative requirements in pension/retirement plans to make informed recommendations and ensure compliance.

Knowledgeable and adept at effectively communicating all legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to the role.



What You Bring

Post secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or demonstrated knowledge equivalency.

Preferred qualification: CEBS and/or RPA designation.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in pension and retirement plan administration and reporting (including year end reporting), including experience with multi-employer plans, defined benefit and/or defined contribution RRSP and/or RPP plans.

Experience working in a unionized environment and/or with union pension plans is an asset.

Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred), including navigating fields to troubleshoot issues, running reports and validating system changes.
