We are looking to hire outgoing proactive individuals to work as part of our receptionist team in our large city-based hostel. Seeking applicants in a full time capacity.
The hostel is one of the largest in Sydney and we have nightly activities and events to make our guests from all over the globe feel welcome.
Some Responsibilities but not limited to;
You would be responsible for the smooth operation on shift, from managing front desk, handovers to maintenance and housekeeping.
Preventing, reducing and managing guest issues should they arise (Bookings/Building issues etc).
We need people to have the following attributes;

Previous experience handling cash and daily shift/banking reconciliations

A genuine interest in helping people enjoy their time in Sydney
Very strong character to manage any situations should they arise

An understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements
We would prefer someone with experience in a hostel or hotel reception background. It would be an advantage if you have supervisor or team leader experience as we are a 500 bed hostel that comes with a lot of challenges. Room for promotion to managerial roles after a successful first six months.
We use CMS Hospitality (GuestCentrix) property management software, so if you know your way around CMS, shout about this in your application. If not, this can be compensated by your enthusiastic personality, experience and willingness to learn.
The perfect candidate would be responsible for the supervision and control of all building areas such as reception, rooms and communal areas in our hostel. Ensuring all compliance, health and safety, fire and building regulations, policies and procedures are adhered to.
The position consists of 5 shifts per week, including weekends, nights and public holidays. On a seven day rotating roster.
