Role Description

This is a contractor role for a Sango Interpreter. The Sango Interpreter will facilitate effective communication by accurately interpreting spoken language between Sango speakers and English speakers. This role will involve interpretation in medical, legal, and educational settings, ensuring culturally appropriate and accurate communication. Responsibilities may include both consecutive and simultaneous interpreting as needed and collaboration with clients and team members to provide high-quality service.

Qualifications
• Fluency in Sango and English, with strong interpreting and communication skills.
• Proven expertise in consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
• Knowledge of cultural nuances and the ability to facilitate culturally responsive communication.
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to confidentiality.
• Certification or training in interpretation is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations and under fast-paced conditions is a plus.
• Flexibility to work on-site in Chicago, IL and manage varying case-specific schedules effectively.
