The Screening Guard is responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for all staff, patients and visitors through Victoria, University & Children's Hospital Emergency Departments. This is accomplished via customer service, screening individuals who present through the main entrances through the Weapons detection system.

Regular Part-Time, no guarantee of hours

Rate of Pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour
Qualifications
Successful completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent
Licensed as a Security Guard in the Province of Ontario
Recent security experience in a Hospital environment (preferred)
Demonstrated effective communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner
Demonstrated high standards of ethical conduct, exhibiting honesty and integrity
Ability to respond to situations with tact and diplomacy and remain calm in stressful situations
Ability to monitor traffic flow through entrances and exits
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient family centred care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
