Minimum Qualifications
Eighth grade. Six months of experience as a general helper or laborer are required. Must possess a Driver's license.
Recruitment Notes
The Semi-Skilled Laborer assigned to Cruise Operations duties include check and adjust virtual message signs (VMS) located throughout the Port. Operate, and maintain cleanliness of Cruise operation vehicles, VMS sign's locations and generators and take vehicles to maintenance shop for routine maintenance. Record water readings from cruise vessels, operate forklift to relocate signs, barricades, and cones. Operate hand and power tools as required.

Miami-Dade County provides retirement benefits for eligible employees through the Florida Retirement System (FRS). Enrollment is automatic for full-time employees. As an FRS member, you must contribute 3% of your salary towards your retirement benefit, on a pre-tax basis (contributions are taken from your gross salary before Federal Withholding taxes are calculated). Miami-Dade County also contributes towards your retirement based on the employee classification.

Seaport Security
Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Seaport Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal, state, or local requirements.
