ABOUT THE ROLE
The Secondary Teacher (Learning Development and Enrichment - Numeracy) plays a key role in supporting students needing additional assistance with numeracy skills to access the Year 7-10 Mathematics curriculum. This role involves working independently and in collaboration with Mathematics teachers to modify the curriculum and implement effective pedagogical strategies tailored to diverse student needs.

Commencing in Term 1 2025, this is a permanent part-time (0.5 FTE) position.

Extensive knowledge of the ACARA and QCAA syllabuses for Mathematics and Numeracy
A strong understanding of effective pedagogies for delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility to obtain)
A Bachelor’s degree in education or related field (post-graduate qualifications are desirable)
Experience teaching Secondary Mathematics and implementing curriculum modifications to meet diverse learning needs
Proficiency in assessing student needs and developing educational adjustments and support strategies
Experience with the Response to Intervention (RTI) Framework and implementing learning support and enrichment programs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with parents, teachers, and stakeholders
Working knowledge of EAPs, IEPs, and the NCCD, and experience designing interventions for students requiring additional support
Experience with assistive technology and developing online resources to enhance teaching and learning
A positive, proactive approach to teamwork and contributing to the school’s culture, values, and co-curricular programs
