The SSD Regulatory Data Analyst role resides in in the First Line of Defense (1LOD) Governance, Resiliency and Controls team within the Securities Services & Digital business.
The SSD Governance, Resiliency and Controls team is responsible for coordinating the end-to-end regulatory, technology, finance and operational controls for SSD. This includes, among other things, managing regulatory and audit remediations, process reengineering, governance and ownership enhancement.
The SSD Regulatory Business Analyst role is responsible for conducting business analyses and reporting to support the business to comply with applicable rules and regulations and it will require involvement in special projects/initiatives and/or strategic/operational planning activities. May serve as a project lead, enlisting support from more junior staff or peers.
The successful candidate will work with the Global Head of SSD Regulatory to ensure that the business line's control environment mitigates the regulatory risks that exist within the business line, and specific responsibilities will include:
• Contributing to development of new processes or procedures implemented to adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Gathering, organizing and reviewing data/metrics. Analyzes and synthesizes the data to present it in a simple way.
• Compiling data into reports or presentations.
• Communicating effectively with technical and business staff.
• Developing and delivering both informational and decision-seeking reports, analyses and/or presentations.
• Participates on project teams or may lead projects/initiatives for the function or business unit.
• No direct reports.
• Contributing to the achievement of multiple teams objectives.
• Mining data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing said data in a format that can be easily read by either human or machine.
• Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
• Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
• Helping develop reports and analysis.
• Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
• Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts.
• Preparing reports for executive leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
• Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance.
• Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
• 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
• Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
• Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
• Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
• High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
• Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Tableau or Power BI Dashboards skills are a plus
