Cloverdale Paint has an opening for a full-time Senior Accountant at our Head Office in Surrey, BC.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that accounts and financial records meet established standards and criteria. The duties include analyzing financial data, recording and validating transactions, and preparing financial statements and other internal reports.
This is an work in-office position, with flexibility to work from home occasionally.
The salary range for this role is from $+0,000 - 110,000+ for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of general ledger journal entries associated with financial statement preparation for 75 retail stores, and 7 plants, distribution facilities and sales centres.
Maintenance of general ledger account reconciliations and preparation of bank account reconciliations.
Maintenance of working paper files to ensure documentation of accounting processing and financial records are supported.
Preparation and review of monthly financial statements, including detailed review of general ledger postings for all divisions.
Preparation of various internal reports, store incentive worksheets, gross margin analysis, bank reporting information, and updating the data room.
Preparation and reconciliation of various monthly government reporting and remittances, including Federal and Provincial taxes, and Eco-fee filings and remittances.
Monitor corporate bank balances and deposit activity daily. Set up wire payments, bill payments, Online Tax Filings for company signatory approvals.
Supervision of two staff accountants who perform similar financial account reconciliation / general ledger and financial statement reviews.
Preparation and maintenance of year-end work for closing the financial statements.
Communicate and provide financial information to external accountants for interim and year-end review engagement.
Assist with annual budgeting process.
Assist with various government and other external audits as they occur.
Answer questions and enquiries and provide information to all company departments as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 5 years full cycle accounting experience in a senior accounting role, ideally in a manufacturing and/or retail environment.
Experience with standard cost accounting is an asset.
A Bachelors degree or diploma in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, with a focus on Excel.
Organized, analytical, accurate and detail oriented.
Delivers high quality results and exceptional service.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
