Senior Accountant

The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to accounting principles and regulations.
• Monitor and reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, including training and mentoring.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
• Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure the organization's practices remain in compliance.
• Participate in financial analysis, variance analysis, and cost analysis activities to provide insights for decision-making.
• Assist in special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements as required.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is highly preferred.
• Proven experience working as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite.
• Experience with all GST return in systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in the textile or manufacturing industry is a plus
