Senior Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY The role of the Senior Accountant is focused on accounting functions within the ETS Corporate Accounting Department. Primary responsibilities include compilation of data related to journal entry processing, reconciliations and analysis that support creation of ETS financial statements and management reports. The Senior Accountant also supports and participates in financial statement and government audits. This position requires collaboration with others within and outside of the Finance organization. • Responsible for timely input in producing the monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for review by upper-level management. Prepare additional reports as required, quarterly and at year-end. • Perform complex reconciliations of various general ledger accounts. Investigate and resolve reconciling items, working with the appropriate ETS personnel. • Prepare monthly journal entries as required. • Document and maintain accounting procedures related to areas of responsibility. • Identify and recommend enhancements to financial systems and collaborate with Information Technology staff to effect necessary changes through automation. • Prepare balance sheet fluctuation analyses. • Provide financial information and supporting documentation as requested. • Assist client, ETS and government auditors by preparing analytical schedules and responding to their inquiries. • Participate in departmental projects and other duties as assigned and necessary • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function Required Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting • CA or MBA preferred • A minimum of 7 years of experience as an accountant • Functional & Technical Acumen - Mastery: Ability to teach a specific domain • End to End ETS Understanding - Proficiency: Understands micro and macro aspects of individual role as well as an understanding of current upstream and downstream impacts • Results Orientation - Proficiency: Demonstrates ownership of assigned accountabilities and accomplishes associated outcomes on-time and within budget in a repeatable and sustainable manner without sub-optimizing other functions • Market Insight and Service Orientation - Proficiency: By understanding the essence of customer and internal stakeholder needs and interests, including those of both the immediate supervisor and the ultimate customer, consistently meets or exceeds established service expectations • Learning Agility - Proficiency: Responds quickly and appropriately to non-routine events and revises ideas of how best to get things done through reflection on and analysis of appropriate information • Relationship Mastery/ People Skills - Proficiency: Demonstrates productive and effective individual interpersonal business relationships across multiple constituencies
