This role will be primarily focused on month end and general ledger accounting. You'll work closely with the accounting manager to oversee the close process as well as various accounting cycles including Revenue, Warranties, Rebates, Accruals, and Commissions. This position will cross train to provide backup and support to our current senior commissions accountant as a ancillary function.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Responsible for monthly close processes and ensuring completion is timely and accurate.
• Assist the accounting manager in overseeing the teams close schedule and deliverables
• Revenue recognition, determining transaction price and measuring performance obligations
• Prepaids, determining total consideration and life of amortization
• AP Accruals, determining existence of company liabilities and accurately measuring fixed Assets, monitoring and maintaining the FA ledger, booking correct depreciation
• ASC 842, leases, monitoring and maintaining new leases and modifications, booking entries accordingly
• Rebates, accurately identifying rebates received and estimating earned rebates
• Warranties, accurately identifying total historic warranty expense and determining estimated warranty liability each period

Secondary Responsibilities:
• Commissions cross training
• Accurately and timely calculation of commission payouts across multiple commissions structures
• Accurate and timely calculation of commissions and bonus accruals
• Perform ad hoc requests during month end close, and supervising areas when needed
• Assisting AR with collections efforts and best practices
• Assisting AP with reconciliations and best practices
• Assisting Staff accountant with Ad Hoc Projects and reconciliations
• Support leadership in completing special projects and analysis requests
• Assist in the review of daily transactions including general ledger and bank entries
• Identifies process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Works cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy
• Document and improve existing processes

Required Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting theory/GAAP
• Advanced excel skills and working with large data sets
• Proficient use of MS Office Suite
• Proficient use of Google Suite, specifically Sheets
• Ability to prioritize workload under time pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Ability to work closely with all levels of staff, including executive management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented self-starter with strong communication skills
• High ownership of work product; capable of effective self-review
• Experience with accessing data in multiple systems
• Strong research and reconciliation skills
• Flexible and capable of quickly adapting to a dynamic business and market environment
• Ability to keep highly sensitive information confidential
• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• CPA preferred
• Public accounting/audit experience
• Experience working with Sage Intacct, TrackVia, BoK (Bank of Oklahoma)
