Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant/Supervisory role oversees the controllership of Accounts Receivable transactions for multi-billion-dollar annual activity for our client
This position supervises staff responsible for analyzing, validating, and processing transactions, including electronic credit card disputes, outstanding receivables, casino promissory notes, banking information databases, and system interfaces
Key responsibilities include verifying financial data, producing monthly reports and reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
This role requires collaboration with Operating and Financial groups, IT, internal and external auditors, and revenue partners
Supervise and coordinate staff to ensure adherence to SOX internal controls, accounting policies, and department goals, while applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for accurate financial reporting
Analyze exchange rates, tax implications, and country-specific requirements across jurisdictions, identifying potential internal control issues and collaborating with Audit and Advisory Services for timely resolution
Assist management in analyzing significant variances in general ledger accounts, identifying flux drivers, and preparing/reviewing monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
Lead special projects such as system upgrades, banking portal enhancements, and interface improvements, ensuring timely completion, and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for financial systems to ensure compliance with accounting and reporting standards
Prepare financial schedules, SOX documentation, and support audits, while interfacing with auditors and IT to resolve system-related issues and ensure accurate reporting
Oversee hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development, and deliver training programs for domestic and international teams, as well as external business areas
Communicate process, service, and system issues to management, propose solutions, and prepare statistical reports to track production volumes and service levels, implementing changes as needed
