THIS POSITION REQUIRES A CURRENT TS/SCI with Polygraph clearances
Core One seeks an experienced Senior Accountant to support the US Government in the Northern Virginia area
Thorough knowledge of the federal Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB)
Thorough knowledge of Federal appropriation law and ability to obtain thorough knowledge of Agency regulations, concepts, methods and standards impacting financial activities
Ability to obtain thorough knowledge of customer mission requirements sufficient to anticipate required financial support
Ability to obtain thorough knowledge of all funding, accounting and acquisitions capabilities to include common and unique financial processes across the Agency
Comprehensive analytical skills necessary to compile data, analyze it, and develop financial reports
Extensive knowledge of quality assurance procedures to ensure data integrity and timeliness of the data
Ability to apply analytic and diagnostic techniques and qualitative techniques sufficient to identify, evaluate, and recommend to managers appropriate financial solutions to resolve interrelated financial problems and issues
Ability to interact with senior Directorate/Office managers, corporate Finance managers or external financial managers in order to contribute to and influence decision-making
Ability to prepare and deliver briefings to senior Directorate, Agency managers, corporate Finance managers, or external financial managers on Finance topics
Ability to manage contractor's competing priorities and work requirements by continuously evaluating the needs of the organization's mission against on-going work; and planning/scheduling own and unit's work
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to elicit cooperation and support from others and to interact tactfully and effectively with co-workers and senior Agency management
Excellent written communication skills to compose and deliver highly technical responses to senior management and customers' inquiries and concerns
Minimum eleven (11) years of demonstrated professional accounting experience with a strong understanding of the responsibilities associated with financial management, accounting, auditing, and/or fiscal control
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with degree requirements for CPA and/or MBA
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)/MBA
Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing and analyzing complex financial activities, ensuring financial compliance, providing strategic and/or specific financial resource advice and guidance to most senior managers and staff on the design, implementation, and/or management of financial activities

Resolves the highly complex financial problems and issues; provides guidance on the interpretation and application of the most complex financial regulations, policies and procedures to senior management, staff, and customers
Analyzes financial data from various systems; creates reports for and provides briefings to senior managers and makes recommendations in support of the mission
Performs other duties as assigned
Attend, at the direction of the Agency, established and ad hoc Directorate and corporate Finance committees, panels and boards
Assist, at the direction of the Agency, any participatory member of the office of assignment's senior management team
