Full job description
At Oura, our mission is to empower every person to own their inner potential. With our award-winning Oura Ring and app, we help over 2.5 million people turn insights about sleep, activity, and readiness into healthier, more balanced lives. We believe that starts from within — by creating a culture where our team feels supported, included, and inspired to do their best work. Our values guide how we show up for each other and our community every day.
We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.
We are looking for a Senior AI Data Specialist – Women's Health to join our science team and help advance our AI capabilities in the women's health domain. This role will focus on curating high-quality training data and contributing to evaluation frameworks for our AI models.
What you will do:
Identify "ideal" context from textbooks, articles, and other authoritative sources that inform women's health questions
Build evaluation datasets including example questions and answers, and develop appropriate metrics for model performance
Help curate and quality control women's health training data from literature, textbooks, and research papers
Validate tags and sections that are labeled in our datasets
Provide expert feedback on AI-generated health responses, including phrasing, medical accuracy, and formatting of answers
Identify thematic concept areas within our data to improve model understanding
Collaborate closely with science, product, and engineering teams to enhance our AI capabilities
This is a remote 6-+ month contract role with potential to convert to full-time based on performance and business needs.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
PhD or MD in women's health or reproductive health domain
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
Passion and excitement for the application of AI to health
Nice-to-have:
Medical, clinical, or direct patient care experience
Experience with data curation or machine learning evaluation

An Oura Ring of your own plus employee discounts for friends & family
