Senior Backup Architect - Windows & Linux Platform

Role Overview : We are hiring a Senior Backup Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery strategies for both Windows and Linux platforms. The candidate will work independently as an individual contributor and serve as the single point of accountability for data protection, restoration, and continuity planning across the infrastructure.This is a critical senior-level position ideally suited for someone who can handle complex backup environments without supervision.Roles and Responsibilities : - Design and implement robust backup architectures covering physical and virtualized environments across Windows and Linux systems- Manage enterprise backup solutions, ensuring scheduled backups, replication, and offsite storage policies are adhered to- Perform full-cycle backup operations including configuration, monitoring, validation, and restoration testing- Ensure high data availability, business continuity, and minimal RTO/RPO for mission-critical services- Automate backup processes and reporting via scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)- Monitor backup health and maintain system integrity, storage optimization, and version retention- Regularly test disaster recovery procedures and document failover plans- Collaborate with system, database, and network teams to ensure alignment with infrastructure requirements- Implement backup policies and security controls in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SAMA)- Handle backup across secure zones, DMZ networks, and segmented environments- Troubleshoot failures and perform root cause analysis on backup-related issues- Maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, backup strategies, and audit trails- Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and data recovery exercisesRequirementsTechnical & Professional Skills : - 8-10 years of experience in enterprise backup and recovery management across Windows and Linux platforms- Expertise in backup technologies such as Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Dell EMC, or similar- Strong understanding of backup storage systems, retention policies, snapshots, and tape management- Hands-on experience with scripting for backup automation and reporting (PowerShell, Bash)- Proven track record of successful disaster recovery planning and execution- Knowledge of file-level, image-level, and VM backups in mixed-platform environments- Familiarity with data encryption, backup security, and access control practices- Experience working in secure, compliance-driven environments (e.g., SAMA, NCA, ISO 27001)- Proficiency with backup across firewalled and DMZ zones- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools for backup health and alerting (ref: hirist.tech
