Our vision is to be among the top-ranked providers of business education within the Asia-Pacific Region, to be the first choice of students and clients seeking award and non-award educational experiences, and to be esteemed globally as a leading supplier of academic and business research.
The Executive Education division of the School, with operations across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, provides customised client learning solutions for organisations and short courses for individual and group enrolment.
The division has significant growth ambitions underpinned by a unique combination of preeminent market positioning, long-standing experience, and a significant investment in capability.
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity now exists to lead growth for MBS’ learning solutions, short courses and advisory services within a specific industry portfolio which, based on the candidates’ experience, would either be within the ‘Industrials’ or Financial & Professional Services portfolio.
As the successful candidate, you will work closely with the Business Development Director and collaborate with a dedicated portfolio team drawn from other Executive Education functions. The team you will join is tasked with developing and executing the business development strategy for the portfolio in order to deliver sustainable, profitable growth in sales revenue and contribution.
Some key accountabilities and attributes include:
A dynamic individual driven by success and achievement of financial targets
Expert level of Business Development planning including contributing to the development and execution of an annual business development plan, with a focus on winning target accounts and driving growth.
Enthusiastic execution and accountability for ensuring the business development plan is effectively delivered and evolved as necessary to achieve and exceed financial targets.
Proactive and timely management of business inquiries and spearheading of pre-sales discussions with current and new clients, qualifying and unpacking opportunities by fully understanding organisational context and objectives, the problem to be solved and the key success factors required of a solution.
Highly skilled and a track record in identifying potential market opportunities and customers, developing strategies and tactics to develop new relationships and convert and expand upon these opportunities.
Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for oversight of the P&L for the nominated portfolio
About you
As a dynamic business development and sales leader, you will demonstrate a proven track history in implementing successful sales planning and execution within the professional services, consulting or learning sector.
You will have considerable experience within either an industrials or financial and professional services environment, as well as experience in a ‘solution sale’ context that requires iterations of client engagement to gather requirements, insight and propose a solution.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in leading complex client engagements, delivering growth, and an ability to build client relationships strategically to achieve commercial targets.
