We have an exciting opportunity within our Large Loss team for an experienced Property Claims Handler. As a Senior Claims Technician in Large Loss, you’ll be responsible for the handling of a portfolio of complex and high value claims.

At AXA we empower our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
• Pro-active management of a portfolio of Property Claims with a potential of £500K+ from notification through to settlement.
• Your portfolio will be predominantly first party Commercial Property losses such as fire, flood and storm which might also include business interruption and alternative accommodation.
• Delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining accurate estimating and controlling indemnity spend.
• Sharing your knowledge and supporting the development of others in your team and in the wider claims community.
• Building excellent working relationships with Loss Adjusters, solicitors and other suppliers.
• Regular communication with policyholders and their representatives and underwriting colleagues.

Your Profile

What we’re looking for:
• You’ll have extensive experience in handling high value and complex commercial property claims with a settlement of at least £500k.
• Experience with Household claims, Third Party property claims and Financial lines, would be an advantage but not essential.
• You’ll be educated to A-Level or degree standard or have an equivalent professional qualification (ACII/FCII/CILA).
• Inspiring leader with empathy and flexibility of approach to achieve effective outcomes.
• Able to deliver exceptional service to your customers.
• Developed communication and interpersonal skills and influencing and negotiating skills.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
